The Beta Psi Council is charged with fostering brotherhood among alumni and undergraduate Brothers. It fulfills its mission and purpose by hosting various social and networking activities with alumni and the undergraduate Chapter. By keeping alumni engaged with each other and the undergraduate Chapter, an active pool of alumni is available to volunteer with the Beta Psi support groups.
The council is hosting two events this year:
April 18, 2020 - The 12th Annual Beta Psi Spring Shootout will be hosted at Heritage Golf Links. This fun-filled event is a great way to get your swing ready for the upcoming season, catch up with old friends, and meet new ones.
Registration: Beta Psi Golf 2020
November 14, 2020 - GT vs. Notre Dame tailgate at Mercedes Benz. Some of you might remember the tailgate we hosted for the Tennessee game a few years ago. We plan to have a bigger turn out this year, and actually win the game! Detail will be provided closer to game day but put this one on the calendars because its one you don't want to miss.
The annual Awards Banquet has become the signature event of the Beta Psi Foundation. This annual event will be held on February 22, 2020. Think “Two’s are WILD” – 2/22/2020 and we think this one will be WILD!
Besides the opportunity to recognize our outstanding chapter as a whole, we will award individual scholarships to deserving Brothers. We will recognize an outstanding Alumnus as the recipient of the James Park Caldwell Service Award. We will give an update on the Skip Bebee Leadership for Life program. Beta Psi Brothers recognized by Sigma Chi International Fraternity for various awards will be acknowledged. We will have a nice dinner (individual choice of entrees) with available adult beverages before, during and after. We will have a silent auction with prizes donated by members and outside sources, as well as a special art piece we have commissioned depicting our beloved Bill George Chapter House.
The Beta Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi is a shining example of all things good in Greek life on any college campus. Our brothers on the campus have raised their GPAs to #3 at Georgia Tech. Tech grades are not an easy task, as we all know. It would be correct to assume that The Foundation support of their academics through scholarships and leadership through Leadership for Life has had an impact on their attainment.
The chapter is very excited for the upcoming spring semester. We just wrapped up spring rush where we recruited 3 new pledges; around our normal number for a spring pledge class. It was announced that among fraternities at Tech we were ranked 3rd in GPA with the brothers averaging a 3.54. I'm very proud of our guys for their continued academic performance. This semester we are all excited for Derby Days: we have continued to increase our money raised for the Huntsman Foundation in recent years and hope to do so again.

Happy 2020 to all Sigma Chi Brothers. The Beta Psi Foundation is coming off a great year in 2019. We overachieved our goals and have the Foundation in great shape moving into the new year. I want to give special thanks to our outgoing chairs, Paul Pascutti, who provided great leadership as President, Doug Martin, who did a great job as Treasurer, Rob Shaw did a great job as Foundation Relations, Rick Higgins who did a great job in Fundraising, Duncan James who did a great job with our Disbursement Committee and Owen Herrin who did a great job overseeing our ever-growing corpus.
